Seneca Cheat Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

Effective March 31, 2026

This policy applies specifically to the Seneca Cheat Chrome extension and not by itself to any other website, product, or service unless stated otherwise.

What This Extension Does

The Seneca Cheat Chrome extension is intended to help a signed-in user connect their browser session with the Seneca Cheat web application.

The extension runs on Seneca and the Seneca Cheat application domains configured in the extension manifest and reads session-related data needed to support that connection.

Information Processed

The extension processes authentication and session-related data that is already available in the user's browser for the supported site, including token or token-manager values used to recognize the signed-in session.

The extension may also process basic technical metadata required to complete the connection flow, such as whether the expected browser storage entry exists or whether a local read operation succeeded or failed.

How Information Is Used

The extension uses this data only to support the extension's single purpose: connecting the user's supported browser session to the Seneca Cheat application at the user's direction.

The extension is not intended to sell user data, use it for advertising, or build unrelated analytics profiles.

Storage and Sharing

The extension may store session-linking data in Chrome extension storage so it can be made available to the Seneca Cheat application during the connection flow.

That data is shared only with the Seneca Cheat application endpoint or origin configured for the extension's connection flow, and only for the purpose of completing that flow.

Retention

Session-linking data is retained only as long as needed for the connection flow or until it is overwritten, cleared by the user, or removed by a later version of the extension.

Users can remove the extension at any time and can clear extension storage through Chrome's extension management tools.

Security

Reasonable steps are taken to limit access to the data handled by the extension to the configured supported origins and the extension itself.

No security measure is perfect, and users should only use the extension if they understand that it handles session-related browser data.

Changes

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
